Single-Session Therapy
✨ What is Single-Session Therapy?
The 'Single-Session Therapy' Session
✧ A Single Session for a Single Issue ✧
... it's a self-contained session, it's a one-off meeting.

-
it's a bit of life-coaching mixed with a whole lot of therapy.
-
it's different format to the regular therapy sessions
-
the one session is whole and complete in itself.
-
with a quick book in ... you'll usually be seen within a few days.

This approach is based on the idea that, if you just have one main over-riding issue, you can benefit from the therapeutic interventions and support in just one single session, without the pressure to come back for regular short-term or long-term therapy sessions ... unless you want to.
✧ Single Session Therapy Options:
-
Therapy Room at Wellness
-
Online via Zoom
✨ Here are some key aspects of how this self contained therapy session works...
1. Goal-Focused
-
In the single-session, we work together to identify a specific goal or issue that you want to talk about during the session.
-
The focus is working on the most pressing concerns and providing targeted interventions to help you achieve your desired outcomes, identifying actionable steps to achieve it all during this one session
3. Solution Focused
-
Using a more solution focused approach, emphasising practical strategies and solutions to help you overcome your challenges.
-
Using techniques such as problem solving, goal setting and new ways, and previous successful ways, of thinking to help you see things from a new perspective and make positive changes.
2. Time-Limited
-
Brief and time-limited, just one 50 minute session.
-
This one-off time frame encourages both of us to prioritise and focus in on the most important issues, without getting bogged down in long-term exploration or analysis.
-
Makes it more accessible for those who may not have the time or resources for ingoing therapy.
4. Strengths Based
-
Focusing on your existing strengths, resources, and resilience.
-
Helping you to identify and build upon those strengths that you already have to address your concerns and achieve your goals.
-
Talk about ways for you to cope with what you're going through and brainstorm ideas for how you can move forward.
✨ What are some things Single-Session Therapy can help with ... in the one issue x one session format

Stress & Anxiety
When you feel overwhelmed, it can provide you quick relief and help you with some easy coping strategies.
Grief & Loss
If you've recently lost someone or something, a session can offer support and help you process your feelings
Making Decisions
If you're stuck on a big decision, like changing jobs or ending a relationship, it can help you clarify your thoughts.
Can be used as a sounding board.

Resolving Conflicts
If you're having trouble with someone else, whether it's a partner, friend or colleague, it can give you tools to improve communication and resolve conflicts.
Life Changes
Support can be given to those going through big transitions, like moving a new house, navigating menopause, or becoming a parent, or even empty nesters.
Changing habits
If you're looking to break a bad habit, like procrastination or unhealthy eating, a session can help you find actionable steps to change.
✨ Benefits of Single-Session Therapy
✧ Accessibility : you can fit a single session into your busy schedule easier than having to commit to a long term therapy plan. It's a flexible and effective option if you're seeking immediate support and solutions for a particular challenge.
✧ Empowerment : by focusing on strengths and solutions, you can feel a sense of empowerment and motivation following the session.

✧ Rapid Results : you will probably leave the session with actionable strategies and a clearer understanding of your issue, leading to immediate insights and progress.
✧ Cost-Effective : single-session therapy can be more economical, requiring fewer resources compared to traditional ongoing therapy.

✧ Limitations : while it can be highly effective for certain individuals and issues, it may not be suitable for everyone. More complex, chronic, or severe mental health conditions may require ongoing therapy for thorough treatment.
Exactly like regular therapy sessions, this is a safe space for you to express yourself open and honestly, confidentiality is assured.

Hopefully you'll leave this one-off session feeling a little lighter and more clear about your thoughts and feelings, along with some ideas and tools you can use in your daily life.
Please note - I cannot guarantee that there be a full resolve of your issue within a single session as it is obviously based on what you are bringing.

There is no expectation or obligation to have more sessions but if you feel like you'd benefit from further therapy sessions we can talk about that too, I'm happy to book you in for short-term or long-term therapy sessions... however absolutely no pressure to do so if one is all you need.

✧ Sometimes one 'single-session therapy' session might just be enough to help with whatever single issue is troubling you!
